COURSE CURRICULUM

The BSc (Hons) in Computing Science at Griffith College is a structured four-year program designed to provide students with both a strong foundation in computer science and specialised knowledge in emerging technology areas. In the first stage, students gain core skills in computer programming, software development, client-side web development, operating system design, computer hardware, systems analysis, and effective learning techniques. The second stage builds on these fundamentals with advanced programming, data structures and algorithms, server-side web development, relational databases, linear algebra, probability and statistics, and systems analysis, preparing students for complex computational problem-solving. In stage three, students focus on networking, human-computer interaction, concurrent development, numerical optimisation, and participate in a work placement to gain real-world industry experience. The award stage allows students to specialise in advanced topics such as advanced network theory, distributed systems, mobile development, cloud services, big data management, games development, artificial intelligence, machine learning, data analytics, cyber security, digital forensics, and emerging technologies. Elective modules allow students to tailor their studies to specific career goals, including cloud computing, IoT, robotics, computer graphics, and ethical hacking. The curriculum combines theoretical knowledge, practical skills, and industry experience, ensuring graduates are prepared for careers in software development, network management, IT consultancy, cyber security, game design, and other technology-driven fields.
