COURSE CURRICULUM

The BA (Hons) in Procurement and Supply Chain Management program is structured in three stages and is designed to build strong business, analytical, and supply chain management skills. In Stage One, students gain a solid foundation in core business subjects such as Business Accounting, Principles of Economics, Marketing Fundamentals, and Business Communications. They also study specialised modules including Purchasing and Procurement, Introduction to Supply Chain, and Business and Operations Management, which introduce the basic concepts of procurement and supply chain processes. Business Maths and Statistics further develop students’ numerical and analytical abilities. In Stage Two, the program focuses on developing more advanced management and professional skills. Students study modules such as Project Management, Financial Management, Business Law and Ethics, and Personal and Professional Development. They also gain technical knowledge through subjects like Technology, Data Management and Analysis, Commercial Relationships, International Trade, Transport and Distribution, Strategic Procurement, and Negotiation, which prepare them for real-world supply chain operations. In the Award Stage, students focus on strategic and advanced topics including Strategic Management, Governance, Risk and Ethics, Sustainability and the Circular Economy, and Strategic Supply Management and Innovation. They also complete an Active Research Dissertation to demonstrate their research and analytical skills. A wide range of elective modules such as Inventory Management, Customs and Regulations, Public Sector Procurement, Intelligent Technologies in Procurement and Supply Chain, Retail Channel Management, and Human Resource Management allows students to specialise in their preferred career areas.
