COURSE CURRICULUM

The BA (Hons) in Finance program is structured over three years and gradually develops students’ knowledge of finance, accounting, economics, and business management. In Year One, students build a strong foundation in essential business and financial concepts. Modules such as Business Mathematics, Business Management, Finance Fundamentals, and Financial Accounting introduce the core principles of finance and accounting. Students also study Marketing Essentials, Principles of Macroeconomics, and Principles of Microeconomics to understand how businesses operate within wider economic systems. In addition, Digital and AI Technologies for Business and Essential Skills for Success help students develop important technological and professional skills needed in modern workplaces. In Year Two, the program moves into more specialised financial topics. Students study Accounting and Finance Technologies, Applied Economics, Business and Company Law, Financial Accounting and Analysis, and Financial Management and Analysis. Other modules such as International Financial Reporting and Management Accounting strengthen students’ understanding of global financial standards and internal business decision-making. Personal and Professional Development also supports career readiness. In Year Three, students focus on advanced financial subjects including Corporate Finance, Portfolio Management, Equity Valuation and Analysis, Fixed Income Securities, and Banking and Sustainable Finance. Additional modules such as Corporate Governance, Business Analysis and Reporting, and International Corporate Reporting provide deeper insight into financial systems. Students can also choose electives like Financial Data Analytics or Contemporary Issues in Accounting and Finance.
