COURSE CURRICULUM

The BA (Hons) in Accounting program is structured over three years and is designed to develop strong knowledge and practical skills in accounting, finance, and business. In the first year, students build a solid foundation in core business and economic principles. Modules such as Business Mathematics, Business Management, Marketing Essentials, and Principles of Microeconomics and Macroeconomics introduce students to key business concepts. Students also study Financial Accounting, Finance Fundamentals, and Digital and AI Technologies for Business, while Essential Skills for Success helps develop academic and professional abilities. In the second year, the program focuses on expanding accounting and financial knowledge through subjects such as Financial Accounting and Analysis, Financial Management and Analysis, Management Accounting, and International Financial Reporting. Students also explore Applied Economics, Business and Company Law, and Accounting and Finance Technologies, while Personal and Professional Development supports career readiness and professional growth. In the third year, students study advanced and specialised topics including Audit and Assurance, Corporate Finance, Business Analysis and Reporting, Performance Management, and Corporate Governance. They also learn about taxation through modules such as Income Tax and VAT and Corporation Tax and Capital Gains Tax, and study International Corporate Reporting. In addition, students can choose elective modules such as Evolving Practices in Accounting and Finance or Financial Data Analytics to further develop specialised knowledge and skills.
