COURSE CURRICULUM

The BA in Interior Architecture and Design program is organised over three years and gradually develops students’ creative, technical, and professional design skills. In Year One, students focus on building a strong foundation in creativity and visual communication. Modules such as Creative Studio Projects, 2D Drawing and Image Making Techniques, and 3D Drawing Techniques help students develop their drawing abilities and creative thinking. Students also learn to use modern design software through Digital Design Tools modules, while Design Principles and Design Visual Culture and Theory introduce them to the fundamental concepts and cultural context of design. In Year Two, the program shifts toward interior design and architectural concepts. Students study modules such as Interior Projects, Ergonomics and Anthropometrics, and Architectural Drafting with 2D CAD to understand spatial planning and human-centred design. They also learn technical skills through Advanced 2D CAD and introductory 3D CAD, while subjects like Building Regulations in Interior Design and Lighting Design provide knowledge of practical and regulatory aspects of interior spaces. The History of Interior Design and Architecture and Design Culture and Theory deepen their understanding of design development and influences. In Year Three, students advance their design and technical skills through Interior Projects and modern digital tools such as Building Information Modelling (BIM). Additional modules include Furniture and Fittings, Building Construction, Sustainability in Interior Design, Brand and Marketing, and Entrepreneurship and Business. These subjects prepare students for professional careers in interior architecture and design.
