COURSE CURRICULUM

The BA in Fashion Design program is organised over three years, gradually developing students’ creative, technical, and professional skills in the fashion industry. In Year One, students focus on building a strong foundation in visual creativity and design techniques. Modules such as Creative Studio Projects, 2D Drawing and Image Making Techniques, and 3D Drawing Techniques encourage students to explore artistic expression and develop their design ideas. Students also learn essential digital skills through Digital Design Tools while studying important concepts in Design Principles and Design Visual Culture and Theory, which introduce the cultural and theoretical aspects of design. In Year Two, the program shifts more directly toward fashion-focused studies. Students begin specialised modules such as Fashion Design and Garment Construction, where they learn how to design and create garments while developing practical sewing and production skills. They also study Design Graphics, Textile Theory, and Contextual Studies for Fashion, which help them understand materials, fashion history, and industry context. Business awareness is also introduced through The Business of Fashion. In Year Three, students advance their creative and professional development through higher-level fashion design and garment construction modules. Additional subjects such as Fashion Illustration, Design Futures, Photography and Video, Brand and Marketing, and Entrepreneurship and Business strengthen their creative presentation and industry knowledge. Students also complete a Digital Fashion Portfolio to showcase their skills and prepare for future career opportunities.
