COURSE CURRICULUM

The program adopts a hybrid delivery model, combining face-to-face teaching, online module delivery, and hands-on laboratory experience. Approximately 44.2% of the program content is delivered through classroom-based lectures, tutorials, and workshops at Dublin City University (DCU), all of which are recorded and made accessible on DCU’s Loop platform for flexible learning. In addition, 22.5% of the program is delivered online through three modules provided by Arizona State University (ASU), supported by DCU tutorials, resulting in a total of 66.7% of the program being available online. The remaining 33.3% is dedicated to a research project, which offers two options: a 12-week laboratory-based project (Option 1) or a series of Masterclasses in Precision Medicine (Option 2). The masterclasses take place over 2 to 3 days per week across a 3-week period and incorporate both practical and computational elements, as well as online learning components. This structure has been designed to support student flexibility by providing access to recorded materials, and to accommodate professionals in the medical, healthcare, and industry sectors who wish to participate in the program while maintaining full-time employment. Under certain conditions, these professionals may also undertake their research project at their workplace if it aligns with the program's focus. Assessment throughout the three semesters is based on continuous evaluation, including assignments, in-class exams, and oral presentations or assessments. While much of the program supports remote participation, in-person attendance at DCU is required for certain assessments, such as in-class exams and oral presentations. Overall, the program aims to combine academic rigor with professional flexibility, making it accessible and manageable for working professionals seeking to advance their expertise in precision medicine and related fields.
