The Computing for Business degree is a multidisciplinary program that blends computing, technology, and business, preparing students to meet the demands of a digital-first world. In the first year, students are introduced to the fundamentals of web design, computer hardware, and programming, alongside modules in mathematics, business applications, and enterprise computer systems. Courses like Digital Innovation and the Digital World encourage students to think creatively about how technology drives change in modern business environments. Data Analysis further develops their ability to interpret and use data effectively.In the second year, the focus deepens with technical and analytical modules such as Database Management, Programming, Systems Configuration, and Developing Internet Applications. Business-focused subjects, including Enterprise Information Systems, Business Systems Analysis, and Quantitative Analysis for Business Decisions, equip students with the ability to analyze and improve business operations through technology. A Professional Practice module helps prepare students for real-world working environments.Year three emphasizes integration of business and technology through courses like IT Architecture, Business Information Management, User Interface Design, and Project Management. Software Testing and continued programming build technical competence. A key feature of this year is the INTRA work placement—a paid eight-month internship in a business or tech-focused role—providing valuable practical experience and professional development.In the final year, students engage in advanced modules such as Search Technologies, Enterprise Architecture, Software Engineering, Cloud Computing, and Internet of Things. Innovation and Entrepreneurship encourages students to apply their learning to new ideas and business models. The year also includes a major Team Project, where students collaboratively design and implement a real-world solution. The Uaneen Module allows students to gain recognition for extracurricular achievements. This well-rounded program ensures graduates are equipped to become IT professionals, business analysts, project managers, or digital entrepreneurs in a rapidly evolving technological landscape.
