COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc in Trading and Investing features a carefully structured curriculum designed to provide both theoretical depth and practical expertise in modern financial markets. The program begins with an optional zero-credit Python Introductory Training module, ensuring all learners are equipped with basic programming skills to support data analysis throughout the course. The first core module, Securities Markets Structure and History (5 ECTS), offers a foundational understanding of how global financial markets have evolved and currently function. Financial Econometrics (10 ECTS) builds essential quantitative skills, enabling learners to model financial data and test economic theories.Technical Analysis and Financial Visualisation (10 ECTS) introduces charting techniques, indicators, and tools for interpreting market trends and visualising trading signals. Financial Reporting and Fundamental Analysis (5 ECTS) focuses on evaluating financial statements to assess a company’s investment potential. Portfolio Planning, Risk Management and Valuation (10 ECTS) develops strategies for asset allocation, risk assessment, and valuation methods critical to effective portfolio management.ESG, Ethics and Regulation in Trading and Investing (5 ECTS) addresses the ethical and regulatory considerations in financial markets, including environmental, social, and governance factors. Applied Financial Marketing Analytics (10 ECTS) examines how data analytics are used to understand investor behaviour and market dynamics. Investment Portfolio Research and Preparation (5 ECTS) supports learners in the development and presentation of a structured investment strategy.The program culminates in the Applied Trading and Investing Capstone (30 ECTS), a practical, project-based module where students integrate all their learning to develop and present a complete trading and investing strategy. This capstone allows learners to apply analytical techniques, justify decisions, and demonstrate deep understanding in a real-world context.
