COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Science in Cybersecurity program is structured to provide a comprehensive education through a blend of technical, theoretical, and applied modules, totalling 90 ECTS. The curriculum begins with core technical foundations in modules such as Advanced Programming Techniques, Advanced Databases, and Networks and Systems Administration, each carrying 5 ECTS. These modules equip students with the skills required to manage and secure modern computing systems and data infrastructures. More specialised knowledge is developed through Cryptography & Digital Forensics (10 ECTS), which explores techniques for securing information and investigating digital crimes, and Communications and Networking Security (10 ECTS), which addresses protecting data transmission across networks.The program also includes Cybersecurity for Software Development (5 ECTS), focusing on building secure software from the ground up, and Penetration Testing for Business Continuity Management (5 ECTS), which trains students to identify vulnerabilities and assess system resilience through simulated attacks. Organisational and Societal Cybersecurity (10 ECTS) broadens the scope to include policy, ethics, risk management, and the societal impact of cybersecurity practices, reinforcing the interdisciplinary nature of the field.In addition, students explore current developments in Cybersecurity Research: Threats, Technologies and Governance (5 ECTS), and develop their academic and investigative skills in Applied Research Methods (5 ECTS). The program culminates with a major Applied Research Project or Dissertation worth 25 ECTS, allowing students to explore a specific area of interest in depth and apply the knowledge and skills gained throughout the course. This structure ensures graduates are well-prepared for careers in cybersecurity, combining strong technical expertise with a deep understanding of the broader legal, ethical, and organisational issues that shape the field today.
