The Bachelor of Business in Information Technology is a three-year program designed to provide students with a strong foundation in core business principles while integrating essential knowledge and skills in information technology. In Year 1, students are introduced to the fundamentals of business through modules such as Business Environment, Fundamentals of Accounting, Fundamentals of Marketing, Business Maths, and Academic Skills. These are complemented by Digital and Media Skills for Business, which helps students build their digital literacy and communication abilities, essential for today’s tech-driven business world.Year 2 builds on this base by introducing more complex business concepts and digital applications. Modules such as Organisational Behaviour and Business Economics provide insights into how people and systems function within business environments. Students also develop practical skills in Applied Digital Skills for Business and Critical Thinking Skills, enhancing their ability to analyse and solve real-world problems. The introduction to cost structures and marketing strategy is covered through modules like Introduction to Cost Accounting and Contemporary Marketing Communications, bridging the gap between finance, marketing, and IT applications.In Year 3, the program emphasises practical application and innovation. The Management Practice Project allows students to apply their knowledge in a real-world or simulated business setting. Business Financial Management and Business Ethics and Research Practice further develop decision-making and ethical awareness. Students explore modern business technology in modules such as Digital Technologies for Business, Database Design and Cloud Technologies, and Business Programming. Innovation and Entrepreneurship encourages creative thinking and strategic planning in developing business solutions using technology.Overall, the program combines business theory with IT skills, preparing graduates for roles in business analysis, digital project management, systems support, and other tech-driven business environments.
