COURSE CURRICULUM

The BA (Hons) in Sustainability Management is a three-year interdisciplinary program designed to prepare students to address environmental, social, and economic challenges through sustainable business practices. In Year 1, students gain a foundational understanding of core business concepts through modules such as Business Context and Organisation, Marketing Essentials, and Economics and the World of Business. They are also introduced to sustainability through modules like Sustainability 101 and SDGs Literacy, which familiarise them with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Applied Sustainability Project 1 encourages early engagement with real-world sustainability challenges, promoting practical learning from the outset.Year 2 builds on this foundation with deeper exploration into both business and sustainability topics. Modules such as Management, Project Feasibility, Business Ethics and Research Practice, and Digital Business Solutions strengthen students' strategic and operational understanding. Meanwhile, sustainability-focused modules—Sustainable Marketing Practices, Sustainable Business, International Economics, and Sustainability Regulation and Compliance—further equip students to apply sustainable thinking in various business contexts. Applied Sustainability Project 2 continues the hands-on approach, encouraging students to work on practical solutions to sustainability problems.In Year 3, the program moves into advanced topics that prepare students for leadership roles in sustainable organisations. Modules include Green Finance, Strategic Management, Human Resource Management, Leadership in Sustainable Enterprises, and Supply Chain Sustainability, all of which integrate sustainable principles into core business functions. Environmental Protection and Eco-social Policies and Business and Society explore the broader impacts of business on the environment and communities. The final Applied Sustainability Project 3 allows students to demonstrate their cumulative knowledge and skills through a substantial real-world project.Overall, the program combines business education with a strong emphasis on sustainability, preparing graduates to lead and innovate in sectors that prioritise responsible and ethical practices for a more sustainable future.
