COURSE CURRICULUM

The psychology course is structured across three levels, each building on the knowledge and skills gained in the previous year. In Level 1, students are introduced to the foundational concepts of psychology through core modules such as Psychological Foundations, Social Psychology, Biopsychology, Developmental Psychology, and Cognitive Psychology. These are supported by practical learning in the Psychology Learning Lab and Research Technique and Analysis 1. Students also explore Individual Differences, Positive Psychology, and gain an introduction to Psychoanalysis and the Unconscious, offering a broad understanding of both scientific and theoretical aspects of human behavior. In Level 2, the course deepens students’ knowledge through advanced modules in Cognitive Psychology, Developmental Psychology, Biopsychology, and Social Psychology. It also introduces Ethical Research Methods and Design and Research Technique and Analysis 2, which further develop students’ research and analytical skills. Modules like Psychology in Action and Experimental Psychology link theory with real-world applications, while Individual Differences 2 and Psychical Structures in the Clinic of Psychoanalysis extend students’ understanding of personality and psychoanalytic perspectives.Level 3 focuses on applying psychological knowledge in practical and professional contexts. Core modules include Psychological Disorders, Psychology in Action 2, Behaviour Science, and a Research Project that allows students to independently investigate a chosen topic. In addition to core subjects, students can select from a wide range of electives based on their interests and career goals. These include Health Psychology, Work and Organisational Psychology, Internet Psychology, Criminal Psychology, and Addiction. Other electives explore more specialized areas such as Performance Psychology, Intervention and Therapeutic Practice, and various psychoanalytic perspectives including Hysteria, Anxiety, Sexuality, and the work of Lacan. Ecopsychology also offers insight into the relationship between humans and the natural environment. This comprehensive course provides students with a strong academic and practical foundation in psychology.
