The Audio Production and Music Project Management degree offers a well-structured, three-year program focused on developing both the technical and business skills needed for success in the music and audio industries. In Year 1, students build foundational skills in studio work and sound theory through modules such as Studio Production, Studio Recording, and Acoustics and Psychoacoustics for Production. These are supported by Critical Listening and DAW Skills, which enhance technical proficiency, and Electronic Music Composition, which encourages creativity. Music Writings introduces students to analytical and reflective writing, while Marketing Essentials and Business Planning provide an early understanding of the business side of the music industry.In Year 2, the course deepens students’ expertise with advanced technical modules such as Commercial Studio Production, Creative Recording and Mixing, and Software Post-Production and Mixing. Practical Composition supports further musical creativity, while Sound Reinforcement and Performance Technologies offer hands-on training in live sound and technical setups. The business-focused modules Digital Marketing for Music and Creativity in the Music Business prepare students to navigate the commercial side of music, teaching skills in branding, promotion, and innovation.Year 3 emphasises professional development and industry application. Core modules include Event Operations and Entrepreneurial Pursuits in Music, preparing students for careers in music event management and independent music ventures. Audio Programming and Game Audio introduce students to emerging sectors where music and technology intersect. The Capstone Project allows students to demonstrate their accumulated knowledge through a significant final project. Students also choose between elective modules—Professional Studio Production or Professional Live Production—allowing for specialisation based on individual career goals. This comprehensive and industry-focused curriculum ensures graduates are well-equipped with both the creative and managerial skills needed to thrive in a wide range of roles across the global music and audio production landscape.
