COURSE CURRICULUM

The program is structured to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of rural development, economic management, and sustainable practices through a carefully designed curriculum. In the first year, students focus on foundational subjects such as Rural and Environmental Policy, Human Resource Management, Rural Economics, and Research Methodology. These courses introduce essential concepts in economics, accounting, and law, while also covering areas specific to rural contexts, including Rural Security Studies, Integrated Settlement Development, and Rural Sociology. Additional courses like Commerce and Logistics, Economics of Agriculture Sectors, Integrated Regional Development, Project Management, Economics of Agricultural Markets, Agricultural Economics and Agricultural Policy equip students with practical tools to analyze and address the economic and social challenges faced by rural communities. This combination of theoretical and applied knowledge ensures that students are prepared to engage with complex problems in rural and regional development effectively.In the second year, the focus shifts to more specialized and applied topics. Courses such as Business Consulting, Local Economic Development, Alternative Management, and Analysis of Agricultural Programs emphasize strategic planning, program evaluation, and the design of effective development initiatives. Regional Planning and Programming, Community Development, Food Chain Safety Knowledge, and Production and Operation Management provide students with the skills necessary to implement, monitor, and optimize development projects in rural contexts. The program culminates in a Thesis, allowing students to conduct independent research on topics relevant to sustainable rural development.In addition to classroom-based learning, students are required to complete a four-week field practice. This practical component provides hands-on experience, enabling students to apply their knowledge in real-world settings, engage with local communities, and gain insight into the challenges and opportunities of rural development. Through this combination of theoretical coursework, applied skills, and practical experience, the program prepares graduates to take on professional roles that support sustainable economic growth, social development, and effective management of rural areas.
