COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc program in Environmental Sciences with a specialization in ecology, environmental and nature conservation aims to train professionals with a comprehensive understanding of environmental systems and the scientific, technical, and practical skills necessary to address complex ecological challenges. The program provides a multidisciplinary foundation, integrating knowledge from ecology, environmental protection, and conservation biology, as well as practical applications using modern technologies and computational tools. In the first year, students acquire essential theoretical and practical knowledge through courses such as biodiversity and its measurement, landscape protection, applied ecology, environmental physics, and soil ecology, alongside hands-on field studies and air quality protection practices. These courses are designed to provide students with the skills to assess the state of natural environments, understand ecological interactions, and measure environmental impacts accurately. The emphasis on applied ecology and computer-based environmental analysis ensures that students can model, monitor, and interpret ecological data in a scientific and methodical manner. In the second year, the focus shifts toward applied management and protection strategies, preparing students to design, implement, and evaluate environmental programs. Courses include environmental communication and management, aquatic environment protection, waste management, and biotechnology for environmental protection, all of which emphasize the practical application of ecological principles to solve real-world environmental problems. Students also complete a thesis project, allowing them to conduct independent research, analyze data, and present their findings in a professional and scientifically rigorous manner. Throughout the program, students develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively across disciplines.
