COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc program in Chemistry at the University of Debrecen offers a comprehensive curriculum that equips students with advanced theoretical knowledge and practical skills across multiple branches of chemistry. In the first year, students study foundational and specialized subjects including Physical Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Organic Synthetic Methods, Heterocycles, Biochemistry, Instrumental Analysis, and an Introduction to Chemical Engineering. These courses provide a solid understanding of chemical principles, laboratory techniques, and the theoretical frameworks necessary for tackling complex chemical problems.In the second year, the focus shifts toward advanced applications and research-oriented training. Students engage with Spectroscopic Methods for Structure Investigation, Instrumental Analysis at a higher level, and Advanced Chemical Technology, which prepares them for modern chemical research and industrial applications. Throughout the program, students gain hands-on experience in state-of-the-art laboratories, learning to design, conduct, and analyze experiments while interpreting results critically. The integration of practical and theoretical knowledge ensures that graduates are capable of solving real-world chemical problems in both academic and industrial settings.A central component of the program is the master’s thesis, which allows students to independently carry out a research project under the supervision of experienced faculty.
