COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc in Mathematics program is designed to provide students with advanced theoretical knowledge and practical skills in both pure and applied mathematics. The first year focuses on building a strong foundation in modern algebra, geometry, probability theory, and optimization techniques, while also introducing students to essential computational tools such as algorithms and graph theory. Courses in convex and discrete optimization, stochastic processes, and financial mathematics are included to strengthen analytical and problem-solving abilities, as well as to develop competencies that are directly applicable in economics, finance, and operations research. Students also receive an introduction to finance and microeconomics to prepare them for the interdisciplinary applications of mathematics in real-world decision-making.The second year emphasizes the application of mathematical methods to complex problems. Students study ordinary and partial differential equations, multivariate analysis, and econometrics, equipping them with tools to model, analyze, and interpret dynamic and stochastic systems. Game theory and financial accounting provide further applied perspectives, enhancing students’ abilities to tackle challenges in economics, finance, and strategy. Throughout the program, students are encouraged to work both independently and collaboratively, using mathematical reasoning to solve problems and develop models in various professional and research contexts.The program also includes a thesis, which allows students to engage in original research, applying their knowledge to a selected topic and demonstrating their ability to conduct independent, high-level mathematical investigation. By combining rigorous theoretical training with applied and interdisciplinary skills, the MSc in Mathematics prepares graduates to pursue advanced research, take on analytical and modeling roles in industry, or continue their studies in doctoral programs.
