COURSE CURRICULUM

The Nursing degree program follows a progressive, four-year structure designed to build strong scientific foundations before advancing to specialised clinical practice. In the first year, students focus on core medical and healthcare sciences, including general principles of nursing, functional anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology, biochemistry, microbiology, pathology, biophysics, health informatics, psychology, medical Latin, first aid, and health pedagogy, providing a solid base for professional development. The second year deepens clinical understanding through internal medicine, pharmacology, preventive medicine and public health, gerontology, paediatrics, surgery, professional care, research methods, and structured clinical practice, while continuing to strengthen practical nursing skills. During the third year, students move into more specialised areas such as psychiatry, neurology, dietetics, obstetrics and gynaecology, alongside advanced internal medicine and surgical nursing, supported by extensive clinical placements that reinforce hands-on competence. The final year concentrates on complex care settings, including anaesthesiology and intensive care, emergency and oxiology care, rehabilitation, community medication, and professional nursing practice, culminating in a thesis that demonstrates academic and clinical readiness. Throughout the program, continuous clinical practice is integrated with theoretical learning to ensure students develop critical thinking, patient assessment, care planning, and multidisciplinary collaboration skills. Graduates emerge well prepared to deliver holistic, evidence-based nursing care across acute, rehabilitative, and community environments, with the ability to respond confidently to diverse patient needs while contributing responsibly to modern healthcare systems.
