COURSE CURRICULUM

Main subjects typically covered in the Chemistry BSc program are designed to provide students with a strong foundation in both theoretical and practical aspects of chemistry while incorporating essential interdisciplinary knowledge. In the first year, students study Mathematics and Physics for Engineers, Environmental Science, and the History and Structure of the EU, alongside core chemistry subjects including General Chemistry, Topics in Modern Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Basic Chemical Informatics, Introductory Physical Chemistry Laboratory, and Nuclear Chemistry. These courses establish a solid understanding of chemical principles, laboratory techniques, and the scientific context necessary for further study.In the second year, the program emphasizes both applied and analytical chemistry alongside complementary skills in Economics and Management. Students deepen their knowledge in Inorganic, Organic, and Physical Chemistry, while also learning Analytical Chemistry, Separation Techniques, Chemical Technology, Spectroscopy, and Colloid Chemistry. An industrial placement provides practical exposure to real-world chemical processes, allowing students to apply theoretical knowledge in laboratory and industrial settings and develop professional competencies.The third year focuses on specialized and integrative aspects of chemistry. Students study Organic Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Technology, and Environmental Chemistry and Technology, reinforcing both theoretical knowledge and laboratory skills. Quality Management ensures students understand standards and procedures applicable to chemical production and laboratory work. Visits to chemical companies supplement the curriculum with practical insights into professional applications, while the thesis project allows students to conduct independent research, integrating the knowledge and skills gained throughout the program. This comprehensive combination of theory, practice, and professional experience equips graduates to work in analytical, industrial, and environmental chemistry settings or to pursue advanced studies at the master’s level.
