The Biotechnology BSc program is structured to give students a strong foundation in both theoretical knowledge and practical skills, preparing them for careers in research, industry, or further studies. In the first year, students focus on building essential scientific and analytical competencies, combining core subjects in physics, mathematics, chemistry, and biology with introductory courses in bioethics, communication, and biotechnology management. They also study cell biology, genetics, and general microbiology, which lay the groundwork for understanding the principles and applications of modern biotechnology. Students gain experience in the scientific method, experimental design, and data analysis, and are introduced to institutional visits that provide exposure to real-world laboratory and industrial environments.In the second year, students move into more specialized biotechnology areas, emphasizing molecular and cellular biology, biochemistry, and microbiology. They learn advanced analytical techniques, bioinformatics, biophysics, and microbial metabolism, while gaining practical experience in molecular biology, gene technology, immunology, and physiology of experimental animals. Industrial and environmental biotechnology, alongside quality assurance, safety, and risk assessment, provide students with insight into professional practices in laboratory and industrial settings. This year equips students with the skills to analyze biological systems and apply biotechnological solutions to real-world challenges.The third year focuses on advanced, cutting-edge topics such as omics and systems biology, synthetic biology, bioanalytics, and pharmaceutical biotechnology. Students explore medical, agricultural, and food biotechnology applications while gaining expertise in cell culture and microbial pharmaceuticals. This stage integrates knowledge from previous years, allowing students to apply their skills to complex biotechnological problems and research projects. The program culminates in a thesis project, where students demonstrate their ability to design and execute independent research. Graduates leave with a solid interdisciplinary foundation, practical laboratory experience, and the technical and analytical skills necessary to pursue careers in biotechnology, life sciences, pharmaceutical industries, or advanced master’s programs.
