COURSE CURRICULUM

The Biology BSc program is designed to provide students with a broad and solid foundation in the life sciences, equipping them with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills applicable in laboratory and field settings. In the first year, students are introduced to the fundamental principles of biology, chemistry, and environmental science. Core subjects include basic biochemistry, plant organology and anatomy, general microbiology, mycology, hydrobiology, and introductory courses in ecology and biotechnology. These courses develop essential analytical skills and prepare students for more advanced studies in biological systems and processes. The second year builds on this foundation with more specialized subjects such as cell biology, plant physiology, animal physiology, genetics, molecular biology, bioinformatics, ethology, biogeography, and environmental protection. Students also gain further experience in laboratory techniques, data analysis, and applied biotechnology, allowing them to explore the structure, function, and interactions of organisms at multiple biological levels. In the final year, the program focuses on integrating the knowledge gained throughout the earlier years. Students study human biology, evolutionary biology, and population genetics, and they engage in independent research culminating in a thesis. This research component encourages the development of critical thinking, experimental design, and scientific communication skills. Through this combination of theoretical coursework, practical laboratory work, and research experience, graduates develop a comprehensive understanding of biological systems, from molecules to ecosystems, and acquire the competence to analyze, interpret, and solve complex biological problems. The Biology BSc program prepares students for diverse career paths in research, environmental management, biotechnology, healthcare, conservation, and education, or for advanced studies at the master’s level, equipping them with the knowledge and skills necessary to address contemporary challenges in biological and life sciences.
