COURSE CURRICULUM

The biotechnology program is structured over four years to progressively build scientific, engineering, and applied biotechnological expertise. In the first year, students establish strong foundations in mathematics, physics, chemistry, cell biology, biochemistry, microbiology, mechanical engineering, animal genetics, economics, civil law, and basic engineering management. The second year deepens technical knowledge through subjects such as molecular biology methods, microbial physiology, genetics, bioprocess engineering, unit operations, environmental technology, process control, biomathematics, and physical chemistry, complemented by visits to biotechnology companies for industry exposure. In the third year, students advance into specialised areas including bioinformatics, analytical chemistry, plant biochemistry and molecular biology, plant physiology, spectroscopy methods, colloid and surface chemistry, computer modelling of chemical technology systems, and practical microbial physiology, alongside marketing and legal studies. The program concludes in the fourth year with courses in quality management, safety, research techniques in plant biology, advanced unit operations and computer modelling, followed by a thesis. This comprehensive structure integrates biological sciences, chemical engineering, and technological applications, preparing graduates with the theoretical knowledge and practical skills required for professional work in biotechnology research, production, and innovation.
