COURSE CURRICULUM

The BA in Psychology is structured as a three-year program that progressively builds students’ theoretical understanding, research competence, and applied psychological skills. In the first year, students establish strong foundations through courses in history of philosophy, biology, statistics for psychologists, experimental psychology, developmental psychology, personality psychology, social psychology, communication, computer science, and professional socialisation, alongside studies of society, culture, and socialisation. This stage introduces scientific thinking and core psychological perspectives. The second year focuses on strengthening methodological knowledge and applied insight, with subjects such as cognitive psychology research methods, evolutionary psychology, diagnostics in personality psychology, clinical child psychology, sport psychology, work psychology, and the psychology of teaching and learning, supported by continued training in statistics and experimental psychology. These courses help students understand behaviour across educational, organisational, and developmental contexts. In the third year, learning becomes increasingly research oriented, featuring individual research projects in developmental, personality, and social psychology, as well as specialised topics including psychophysiology of cognitive processes, psycholinguistics, experimental affective psychology, helping relations, clinical and health psychology, learning disabilities, and laboratory practice in work psychology. The program culminates in a thesis, allowing students to demonstrate independent inquiry and critical analysis. Throughout the curriculum, emphasis is placed on ethical awareness, data interpretation, psychological measurement, and evidence-based approaches to understanding individuals and groups. Students also develop transferable skills such as communication, problem-solving, and reflective thinking. By integrating theory with research practice and applied learning, the program prepares graduates for diverse professional environments while providing a solid academic foundation for progression to master’s-level studies in psychology or related disciplines.
