COURSE CURRICULUM

The BA in Pop Music Performance provides students with a comprehensive education that balances technical mastery, artistic development, and industry knowledge. Students develop instrumental or vocal proficiency while gaining an understanding of music history, theory, and applied composition. The program covers a broad spectrum of subjects, including the history of classical and popular music, folk music and its arrangements, solfege, music theory, and improvisation, equipping students with the analytical and creative skills necessary for professional performance. Practical training is emphasized through band practice, stage presence coaching, background singing, and rhythm section exercises, ensuring students are comfortable performing both solo and in ensembles. Technical skills are developed in areas such as sound editing, orchestration, and producer basics, which provide insight into music production and studio work. Students also acquire knowledge of repertoire, instrument-specific techniques, and applied music composition to enhance their versatility as performers. Complementary courses, including cultural history, philosophy, foreign language skills for music professionals, and management fundamentals, prepare graduates to navigate the broader music industry, understand cultural contexts, and take on collaborative or organizational roles within musical and cultural institutions.
