COURSE CURRICULUM

The Communication and Media Studies program follows a progressive curriculum designed to combine theoretical understanding with hands-on media practice. In the first year, students build strong foundations in communication theory, media theory, media culture, media politics, law, ethics, and economics, while also exploring areas such as popular music, film industry studies, script writing, transmediality, and the social science perspectives of the internet. These subjects help learners understand how media operates within broader cultural, political, and economic contexts. The second year shifts toward applied analysis and professional skills, introducing media studies, media text analysis, strategic communication, presentation techniques, writing practice, protocol, marketing, business innovation, and communication training methods, supported by media lab work that strengthens practical competencies. Students learn how to interpret media content critically, develop persuasive messages, and communicate effectively in professional environments. In the third year, the program becomes strongly practice-oriented, focusing on journalism and media production through press and media relations, press genres, news editing and analysis, press photography, radio and television studio training, advocacy journalism, reporting, creative writing, and opinion journalism. These courses allow students to gain real-world experience in content creation, storytelling, and multimedia production while developing ethical awareness and editorial judgement. Throughout the program, emphasis is placed on media literacy, teamwork, problem-solving, and professional communication, preparing students to navigate complex organizational settings and collaborative projects. By integrating academic frameworks with creative and technical training, graduates develop the skills needed for careers in journalism, media production, strategic communication, and related fields, while also gaining a strong foundation for further academic study.
