COURSE CURRICULUM

The Human Resources Counselling master’s program at Budapest Metropolitan University is organized across four semesters, gradually building advanced professional, analytical, and consultancy skills. In the first semester, students establish strong foundations through subjects such as research methodology, economic policy, marketing and communication management, work psychology, labour market and employment policy, labour law, labour relations, and intercultural knowledge, providing a broad understanding of organizational, legal, and social contexts. The second semester moves into applied HR practice, covering human informatics, social and organizational psychology, competency-based HR systems, professional HR consulting fundamentals, negotiation techniques, conflict management, and organizational behavior and leadership, helping students connect theory with real workplace situations. During the third semester, learning becomes more strategic and consultancy-focused, with courses in HR strategy and project management, equal opportunities, change and crisis management, HR consulting methods and techniques, and career planning and consulting, alongside a master’s thesis forum that supports research development. The fourth semester integrates ethics, innovation and knowledge management, professional practice, and completion of the master’s thesis, allowing students to apply their expertise in real organizational environments while finalizing their academic work. In addition to formal coursework, students benefit from competency development trainings supported by the Career Center and Training Center, which strengthen essential HR consulting skills such as coaching management techniques, DISC assessment, time and conflict management, creativity methods, resilience, negotiation techniques, and personal branding. This comprehensive structure ensures graduates develop both strategic insight and practical consultancy capability. By the end of the program, students possess a well-rounded understanding of HR systems, leadership dynamics, and organizational development, preparing them for impactful roles in HR consulting, career advisory services, and people-focused management across diverse professional settings.
