COURSE CURRICULUM

The Animation Master program at Budapest Metropolitan University is structured to gradually guide students from advanced skill development toward independent creative production. During the first year, students face complex animation design tasks such as literary adaptations, applied projects, and experimental films, while strengthening their storytelling, animation, and sound design abilities. They further improve both 2D and 3D computer animation skills and refine their individual graphic style through creative visual studies. Alongside practical work, students become familiar with current trends in animation art and explore how animation connects with other visual fields, helping them develop a broader artistic perspective. This foundation prepares them for more autonomous creative work in the second year, when they begin developing their graduation film and experimenting with diverse graphic and visual communication styles. At this stage, students focus on shaping their own artistic voice while building a personalized animation production workflow, learning how to manage projects from concept to final execution. The second year emphasizes independence, experimentation, and professional readiness, encouraging students to integrate creative ideas with technical processes and production planning. Through this progression, learners gain experience in both artistic exploration and structured project development, ensuring they graduate with a strong portfolio, practical production knowledge, and the confidence to contribute meaningfully to the animation industry.
