COURSE CURRICULUM

The Photography BA program offers a structured and immersive curriculum that gradually builds students’ artistic, technical, and conceptual abilities across six semesters. In the first year, students establish strong foundations through courses such as History of Art in the Context of Social Sciences, Basics of Communication Studies, Introduction to Philosophy and Aesthetics, and History of Photography, alongside intensive practical modules including Photography Design, Laboratory Practice, Studio Practice, and Digital Techniques. Project Weeks and creative initiatives such as Start My Brand support early professional awareness and collaborative learning. During the second year, the focus expands to Photography Technologies, Photography Theories, Theories of Image Creation, and Basics of Law, Economics and Management, helping students connect artistic practice with theoretical understanding and industry contexts. From the third semester onward, students enter specialization pathways, most notably Creative Photography, where they engage in Creative Photography Design Studies, Special Theoretical and Technological Studies, Multimedia Practice, Art Theory, and Critical Thinking and Art. These modules encourage experimentation, conceptual development, and personal visual expression while strengthening technical mastery. Throughout the program, regular Project Weeks reinforce applied learning and portfolio development. In the final stages, students concentrate on professional preparation through Presentation Techniques, Project Design and Implementation, Prediploma Exercises, Diploma Work Planning, and Degree Thesis Preparation, culminating in an independent degree project. Optional subjects allow learners to tailor their studies to individual interests, while continuous studio-based practice supports the creation of a cohesive personal body of work. By integrating art history, communication theory, technology, creative experimentation, and project-based learning, the curriculum develops both craftsmanship and critical thinking. Graduates leave with a strong visual language, hands-on experience in analog and digital photography, and the ability to translate ideas into compelling images, preparing them for careers in creative industries or further academic study.
