COURSE CURRICULUM

The Human Resources BA program at Budapest Metropolitan University is built around a progressive structure that helps students master modern HR by focusing equally on people and processes, including recruitment and selection, training and development, incentive systems, competency management, employer branding, organisational culture, and HR technology. The program is organised into four closely interconnected phases that gradually develop professional competence and practical confidence. During the first phase, covering semesters one to three, students gain a strong business foundation essential for HR practice, learning how organisations operate while understanding that HR specialists are business professionals with expertise in people, work processes, and organisational cultures. This stage builds core knowledge in economics, management, and communication, preparing students for more specialised learning. In the second phase, across semesters four and five, students explore the key areas and functions of the HR profession in greater depth, strengthening their understanding of workforce management, employee development, and organisational effectiveness. The third phase, typically spanning semesters five and six, allows students to begin specialising according to personal interests, enabling them to focus on specific HR fields while refining analytical, strategic, and interpersonal skills. The final phase is a dedicated practical semester in the seventh term, where students gain hands-on experience in a real corporate environment. This professional placement provides valuable exposure to workplace realities, helping students apply theoretical knowledge in practice, develop professional networks, and understand everyday HR operations. Throughout the program, learning is supported by interactive methods and real-world examples, encouraging students to think strategically while responding to contemporary workplace challenges.
