COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master’s Programme in European and International Business Law provides students with advanced knowledge of legal frameworks governing modern businesses operating within the European Union and international markets. The modules combine theoretical legal principles with contemporary case law and practical applications, preparing students for careers as legal advisors, court representatives, researchers, and business law professionals. Students develop a strong understanding of EU internal market law, including the free movement of goods, services, capital, and establishment, while also examining European and international business transactions, contract formation, commercial agreements, digital services, consumer protection, and cross-border business activities. The programme also covers international and EU competition law, including antitrust rules, abuse of dominant position, mergers, and state aid. Corporate governance and ESG compliance introduce students to accountability, transparency, sustainability, ethical leadership, corporate social responsibility, and regulatory compliance. International dispute resolution develops knowledge of litigation, arbitration, mediation, and negotiation through European and international institutions. Students also explore international trade law, WTO frameworks, maritime and port law, international private law, and the legal aspects of financial crime, including fraud, corruption, money laundering, and market abuse. Research and writing skills strengthen students’ ability to conduct systematic legal research, analyse legislation and case law, and communicate legal arguments effectively. The programme concludes with a substantial dissertation, allowing students to independently investigate a specialised area of European or international business law. Overall, the curriculum develops comprehensive legal, analytical, research, and practical skills required to understand complex cross-border business issues and operate effectively within the EU and global legal environment.
