COURSE CURRICULUM
The Undergraduate Programme in Greek Law with Common Law is structured over four years and combines Greek legal education with selected areas of English and Welsh Common Law. In Year 1, students build foundational knowledge through Introduction to Law and Legal Informatics, Constitutional Law, Civil Law, Commercial Law, Family Law, Administrative Law, Public International Law, and academic English, legal research, and communication skills. Year 2 introduces more specialized subjects, including the Law of Obligations, Criminal Law, Competition and Intellectual Property Law, EU Law, Civil Procedure, and the Principles of English Contract Law. Year 3 develops further expertise through Property Law, National Land Registry Law, Civil Procedure, Administrative Procedure, Inheritance Law, Trade Companies Law, Labour Law, and English Law of Torts and Criminal Law. Students can also select optional Greek-law modules covering areas such as banking and insurance, consumer protection, modern contracts, medical law and bioethics, data protection and internet law, alternative dispute resolution, taxation, economic criminal law, and professional legal ethics. Year 4 focuses on advanced and practical legal applications through Criminal Procedure, Securities and Insolvency Law, International Private Law, and composite applications in Public, Criminal, and Private Law. Students also study selected areas of English law, choosing from Company Law, Public Law, Comparative Law, Property Law, Law of the Sea, and Equity and Trusts. Overall, the programme provides students with a broad understanding of the Greek legal system while introducing important principles of English Common Law, creating an international and comparative perspective. The curriculum develops legal reasoning, research, critical analysis, communication, interpretation, and practical problem-solving skills through both theoretical study and applied legal subjects. The combination of Greek-language legal modules and English-language Common Law modules helps students understand different legal traditions and their relationship within European and international contexts. The programme therefore provides a strong academic foundation for students seeking to pursue legal careers in Greece and develop further qualifications or academic opportunities connected with the United Kingdom and international legal environments.
