COURSE CURRICULUM

The BA (Hons) in Business Studies (Hotel and Hospitality Management) is structured over four years and combines core business education with specialized hospitality and tourism knowledge. In Year 1, students develop foundational skills through Management, Microeconomics, Marketing, Quantitative Methods for Business and Finance, Macroeconomics, Artificial Intelligence Literacy, IT Applications, Academic and Professional Communication, and transferable career skills. Year 2 expands students’ knowledge through Management, Accounting, Business Statistics, Business Analytics, Information Technology for Management, the European Union, Business for Society, and Business Law. In Year 3, students study more advanced areas including Organisational Behaviour, Decision Making with IT, Management Accounting, Financial Institutions and Markets, Corporate Sustainability, Marketing Management Strategies, Consumer Behaviour, Financial Management, Digital Transformation, Operations Management, International Political Economy, and current Business Law issues. Year 4 introduces specialized hospitality and tourism subjects, including Entrepreneurship and Small Business, Introduction to the Hospitality and Tourism Industry, Hospitality Services Management, Accommodation Management, and Sustainable Tourism and Regional Planning. The programme also includes a Practicum designed to provide practical knowledge in Human Resource Management, Financial Control and Information Management in the Hospitality Industry, Destination Marketing and Management, and Food and Beverage Management in Hotels and Hospitality. Overall, the curriculum provides students with a broad understanding of business management while gradually developing specialized expertise in hospitality operations, tourism, accommodation, food and beverage services, destination marketing, financial control, human resources, and sustainable tourism. Students also develop analytical, digital, communication, leadership, strategic decision-making, and problem-solving skills that are valuable in the international hospitality sector. The combination of academic study and practical learning prepares graduates to understand both the commercial and operational aspects of hospitality organizations and to manage customer experiences, employees, finances, services, and business performance effectively. The programme can provide a strong foundation for careers in hotels, resorts, tourism organizations, restaurants, event businesses, destination management, hospitality marketing, and other related sectors.
