COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master’s program in Visual & Experience Design is a comprehensive four-semester course totaling 120 ECTS, taught in English, designed to equip students with advanced skills in digital, physical, and computer-assisted design interactions. The curriculum blends theory and practice through a diverse range of specialization modules such as Graphic Practice & Narratives, Design in Crisis, Culture in Technology, Data & Society, Speculative Futures, Cultural Studies, Advanced Research Methodologies, and Experience Design. Alongside these, students participate in interdisciplinary university-wide and faculty-wide modules including Contemporary Leadership Culture, Interdisciplinary Electives, and the Atlas of Design, promoting a broad and multicultural learning environment. A key practical element is the Capstone Project, a real-world consulting project that often involves collaboration with other study programs, allowing students to apply their knowledge and design solutions in practical contexts. The program emphasizes a balance between creative expression and critical awareness of cultural and technological impacts, fostering innovative thinking in user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) design. The final semester focuses on Thesis Development and the Thesis & Colloquium, where students conduct in-depth research and present their work, preparing them for professional or academic careers. The workload averages 18 hours per week, with flexibility in the final semester to concentrate on thesis completion. Graduates are prepared for various roles such as visual and experience designers, brand designers, service designers, design strategists, and creative directors. The program’s interdisciplinary and practical approach ensures students gain both the technical skills and critical insights needed to succeed in the evolving international design industry.
