COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master’s program in International Sport & Event Management (MA) at the University of Europe for Applied Sciences provides students with an in-depth, application-oriented education tailored to the growing global sports and event industry. Spanning four semesters and totalling 120 ECTS, the program combines business, sports, and event-specific modules to ensure a well-rounded academic and professional foundation.In the first semester, students are introduced to core topics such as international sport governance, corporate social responsibility and ethics, and contemporary leadership culture, building the theoretical and ethical groundwork for future managerial roles. Entrepreneurial thinking and digital business models are also covered, encouraging innovative approaches to the dynamic event industry.The second semester focuses on practical and strategic management tools, including international exhibition management, athlete and team coaching, and health management in sports. Students also explore international congress management, preparing them to plan and execute large-scale, cross-border events. Business coaching is included to develop personal and interpersonal leadership capabilities.In the third semester, students delve into advanced research methodologies and undertake the Capstone Project – a practical, consulting-based assignment often conducted with real-world industry partners. Specialised courses in international sport organisations and international event development offer a deeper understanding of organisational and logistical structures. Corporate event management and comparative cultural studies are also part of this phase, reflecting the program’s international and intercultural orientation.The final semester is dedicated to the Master’s thesis and accompanying colloquium, where students apply their accumulated knowledge and research skills to a self-selected topic, often with direct relevance to their desired career path.With flexible lecture times between Wednesday afternoon and Saturday evening, the program is well-suited for students seeking to combine academic study with part-time professional experience.
