COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master’s program in New Media Design (MA) at the University of Europe for Applied Sciences is a two-year, 60 ECTS curriculum delivered in English. It focuses on equipping students with the skills to conceptualize and create immersive and interdisciplinary media experiences across both digital and physical environments. In the first semester, students complete 30 ECTS through modules such as Hybrid Media and Digital Environments (10 ECTS each, 6 HWS), along with Performativity, Theory of Media, and Advanced Research Methodologies, each contributing 5 ECTS and 3 HWS. The second semester continues with another 30 ECTS including New Media Tools & Technologies, Interdisciplinary Elective, and other faculty-wide and university-wide modules. These subjects emphasize practical application, critical analysis, and technical proficiency in new media. The program is enriched through interdisciplinary learning opportunities, allowing students to collaborate across UE faculties. The culmination of the degree is the Master Thesis & Colloquium, which carries 15 ECTS and focuses on synthesizing knowledge through research and practical exploration. The structure of the program blends theory, creative experimentation, and technology to prepare students for roles in digital media, spatial design, UX/UI, and other emerging media careers.
