COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master’s program in New Media Design (MA) at the University of Europe for Applied Sciences is a 90 ECTS, three-semester course delivered in English. It equips students with the theoretical and practical knowledge to create immersive experiences in both digital and physical environments. The curriculum is built around interdisciplinary and media-focused modules, beginning in the first semester with core subjects such as Hybrid Media, Digital Environments (each 10 ECTS, 6 hours per week), and supporting courses like Advanced Research Methodologies and Theory of Media. The second semester deepens practical and conceptual expertise with modules like New Media Tools & Technologies, Emerging Tools & Methodologies, Performativity, and Interdisciplinary Electives. Students also explore cultural and speculative themes through courses such as Speculative Futures or Visual Narratology and Extended Realities. In the third semester, students consolidate their learning through the Thesis & Colloquium (15 ECTS) and further elective studies. Additional modules like Contemporary Leadership Culture and Cultural Studies broaden the professional and societal context of media design. The program includes opportunities to participate in interdisciplinary projects across faculties, preparing graduates for careers in digital media, spatial communication, user experience design, and interactive storytelling.
