The Bachelor’s degree in Visual Communication at UE offers a comprehensive, interdisciplinary education that blends artistic creativity with technological expertise. Spread across six semesters and totaling 180 ECTS credits, the program equips students with a diverse set of skills through a carefully structured curriculum. The first semesters focus on foundational theories and general design principles, including art, design, and cultural studies, as well as design thinking that covers concepts, scenarios, and strategies. Students also engage with media and cultural theory to build critical perspectives on the role of visual communication in society.Practical skills are developed through hands-on modules in tools and technologies, where students explore areas such as visualisation in graphics, illustration, animation, film, and photography. Emphasis is placed on interaction and interfaces, including user experience design, which reflects the program’s commitment to preparing students for contemporary digital media environments. The curriculum integrates storytelling through narration and visual storytelling projects, fostering the ability to convey compelling narratives across diverse platforms.The program also incorporates professional practice elements, such as start-up projects and curatorial practice, allowing students to develop real-world experience and presentation skills. A semester abroad or internship semester provides further exposure to industry practices and international perspectives.
