COURSE CURRICULUM

The Film & Motion Design bachelor's program at the University of Europe for Applied Sciences is designed to immerse students in the creative, technical, and theoretical aspects of cinematic and motion design practices. Delivered over six semesters and totaling 180 ECTS, the curriculum offers a comprehensive foundation in areas such as cinematography, editing, compositing, motion graphics, animation, digital and analogue workflows, and visual storytelling. Students explore film formats, genres, and editing principles while engaging with theoretical frameworks in media and cultural studies. The early semesters build essential knowledge through modules like Presentation Methods, Technological Design Methodologies, Tools & Technologies, and Foundation Projects. As students progress, they refine their creative direction by selecting from advanced project modules including Experimental & Hybrid Film, Music Video & Visual Music, and Motion Graphics & Explainer, allowing for focused specialisation. The program supports interdisciplinary development through Studium Generale and optional curatorial practice, encouraging exploration across the university's Art & Design faculties. A standout feature is the fifth semester, offering a semester abroad or internship, equipping students with international experience and professional exposure. The final semester culminates in a Bachelor’s thesis supported by BA Proposal, BA Visualization, and BA Documentation & Presentation modules, ensuring students graduate with a cohesive, industry-ready portfolio.
