COURSE CURRICULUM

The BA in Design and Management Studies is a six-semester program awarding 180 ECTS credits, structured to integrate design thinking, creative strategies, and business management. In the early semesters, students are introduced to the fundamentals of art, design, and cultural studies through courses like General Design Foundations, Media and Cultural Theory, and foundational design modules such as Foundations 1.1 to 1.3. These core modules are complemented by Tools & Technologies courses that run through the first three semesters, building students’ practical and digital competencies.As the program progresses, students engage in interdisciplinary learning with modules delivered jointly with the business faculty, such as Foundations 2.2 to 3.2 and Strategic Value Creation. Management Basics and Media Management equip students with essential business and organizational knowledge relevant to creative industries. The program also emphasizes contemporary challenges, offering modules like Digital Transformation, Design Thinking (Concepts, Scenarios, Strategies), and Hybrid Publishing, which prepare students to navigate and lead in evolving design landscapes.In the later semesters, students focus on real-world application through Curatorial Practice, Design Cases, and Professional Practice, including a Start-up module that encourages entrepreneurial thinking. The theoretical depth is enhanced by studies in aesthetics and ethics, cultural theory, and presentation methods, fostering a critical and responsible design mindset.The final semester is dedicated to a comprehensive Bachelor’s project, including a BA Proposal, BA Thesis, Documentation, and Presentation. This capstone experience allows students to demonstrate their ability to combine creativity, strategy, and management into a cohesive and impactful project. Graduates emerge with the interdisciplinary skills needed for careers in design management, innovation consultancy, or project management across commercial and cultural sectors, ready to drive change in a dynamic and ethically conscious creative industry.
