COURSE CURRICULUM

Health Informatics, students build a strong foundation in interdisciplinary fundamentals, allowing those from diverse academic backgrounds to strengthen prior knowledge through bridge courses in medicine or information technology. This early phase emphasizes developing in-depth expertise in areas such as artificial intelligence, digital systems, and research methods, establishing the analytical and technical skills required for the healthcare sector. As the program progresses, students apply their knowledge in practice-oriented projects, exploring current and emerging topics including cloud computing, the Internet of Things, and health data visualisation, thereby combining theoretical understanding with practical application. In the specialisation phase, students are encouraged to set individual priorities, tailoring their learning to align with career goals and to explore innovative solutions for complex healthcare challenges. The program culminates in a Master’s thesis, providing an opportunity to conduct substantial, independent research or project work, ideally in collaboration with healthcare partners or as part of start-up and innovation initiatives. This final project integrates technical, managerial, and analytical skills, preparing graduates to address real-world healthcare problems effectively. By combining interdisciplinary knowledge, practical experience, and innovation-driven projects, students are equipped to become leaders in health informatics, capable of advancing digital transformation and improving patient care in diverse healthcare settings.
