COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Arts in Interior Design & Scenography is a seven-semester program that offers a unique blend of creative, theoretical, and practical training. In the first semester, students gain foundational knowledge in art and design history, intercultural competence, and construction basics, alongside skills in model making and design software. The second semester deepens this foundation with courses in architectural history, media theory, academic writing, and design philosophy, while expanding practical skills in freehand drawing and conceptual design. In the third semester, the focus shifts toward branding, eco-materials, and sustainability. Students explore scenography, narrative environments, and storytelling, and apply their learning in workshops and short-term projects, optionally with external partners. The fourth semester builds on these themes with advanced branding, communication theory, and scenography, as well as continued collaboration with industry partners on material science, law, and future-oriented design. The fifth semester offers a mobility option through a 16-week internship or a semester abroad, along with an individual design project. In the sixth semester, students learn project management, budgeting, and planning, while refining their expertise in spatial communication, construction supervision, and portfolio creation. Workshops further prepare them for professional presentation and branding. The final semester includes practical excursions to museums, studios, and design sites to inspire real-world understanding. Advanced methods and design atmosphere exploration lead into scientific writing preparation and the development of a comprehensive design portfolio. The program concludes with the Bachelor Thesis, where students independently apply their accumulated skills and knowledge to a final project. This curriculum provides a thorough grounding in immersive and narrative spatial design, preparing graduates to lead innovative interior and scenographic projects in fields such as exhibitions, brand environments, retail, hospitality, and future living spaces.
