B.A. Audio Design program, your journey begins in the first semester with a deep dive into the world of sound, where you will explore the basics of audio engineering, including miking, recording, and acoustics. You’ll gain hands-on experience with major digital audio workstations like Logic, Pro Tools, and Ableton Live while creating your first compositions, learning to shape their impact through sound design. Alongside this, piano lessons and an introduction to the history of popular music will support your musical development. In the second semester, your understanding of music theory and digital signal processing deepens, while you begin applying your knowledge in cross-disciplinary practical projects involving collaboration with students from related fields. The third semester focuses on your compositional voice, as you develop your own pieces, explore software-based instruments, and study music production and studio practices, alongside learning the essentials of media law. The fourth semester brings further technical growth through modules on arranging, mastering, audio mixing, and post-production. In the fifth semester, you’ll apply your skills in the real world during an internship or a study abroad experience, earning practical insight and academic credit. The sixth semester introduces you to a major specialisation project in areas like sound design, composition, or music production, developed collaboratively with students from other programs. Here, you’ll also dive into 3D audio and multi-channel systems while building custom instruments or interfaces. Finally, in the seventh semester, you will carry out an independent specialisation project in areas such as game audio, film music, or sound dramaturgy. You will also take on a teaching role, training your didactic skills in foundational modules for new students, culminating in the writing of your Bachelor’s thesis that reflects your individual creative and academic evolution in the field of audio design.
