ABOUT UNIVERSITY

The Northern Institute of Technology Management (NIT), founded in 1998 by 40 professors of the Hamburg University of Technology (TUHH), is a prestigious educational institute in Hamburg. Originally named the Northern Institute of Technology, it added "Management" in 2007 to reflect its expanded focus. NIT offers an English-language master's program in Technology Management (M.A. or MBA), accredited by FIBAA and the German Accreditation Council, in collaboration with TUHH. Students can pursue the program part-time, as a double master with a TUHH M.Sc., or as a certificate program titled “Innovation Manager.” Central to the curriculum is the “MyProject” module, where students develop entrepreneurial projects throughout their studies. The institute employs a “Flying Faculty” of international experts who teach specific modules. Beyond degree programs, NIT offers professional development through its “NIT Toolbox,” which provides workshops and training on digitalization, leadership, innovation, and more. Since 2017, the institute has hosted the Hamburg Economic Dialog, a quarterly event featuring discussions with industry leaders on future workplace trends. NIT also awards the Hauke Trinks Award, named after its founder, to recognize outstanding STEM bachelor’s theses from Hamburg universities that demonstrate scientific curiosity and interdisciplinary innovation. The institute’s motto is “BE THE CHANGE.”
