ABOUT UNIVERSITY

MetFilm School (MFS) is a private film school founded in 2003, based at the historic Ealing Studios in London, with additional campuses in Birmingham, Brighton, Bristol, Leeds, Manchester, and Berlin. The school offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and short courses in filmmaking, screenwriting, and related disciplines. Initially launched by Luke Montagu and Thomas Hoegh, it expanded to Ealing Studios in 2005 and later established a presence in Berlin’s BUFA studios in 2012. Notably, in 2015, MFS partnered with YouTube to develop a major studio and training facility for creators in Berlin. The school launched its BA in Practical Filmmaking in 2009 and has continued to grow since then. In 2024, MetFilm School was acquired by BIMM University, strengthening its academic framework. As of 2025, Jonny Persey is the school’s Director, and David Howell serves as CEO. MFS has an advisory board comprising high-profile industry professionals such as Sir Alan Parker, Stephen Frears, and others, and maintains informal connections with the National Film and Television School. The school is known for its strong industry ties, practical learning environment, and a focus on preparing students for real-world careers in the creative industries.
