Macromedia University of Applied Sciences

Macromedia University, founded in 2006 and headquartered in Stuttgart, is a private university of applied sciences with multiple campuses across Germany, including Munich, Freiburg, Frankfurt, Cologne, Leipzig, Berlin, and Hamburg. Since 2020, it has been led by President Castulus Kolo and is organized into two faculties: Culture, Media and Psychology, and Business, Design and Technology. The university is supported by Macromedia GmbH, part of the international Galileo Global Education group since 2013. Macromedia University is state-recognized and accredited by the German Council of Science and Humanities and the German Accreditation Council, holding the FIBAA quality seal for excellence in digital education. The university offers a broad range of bachelor’s and master’s degree programs in German and English, covering fields such as management, media, digital technologies, design, psychology, journalism, film, fashion, and music. Many programs are available in hybrid formats, combining campus and online learning. Practical experience is emphasized through internships, research projects, and close cooperation with industry partners. Macromedia supports entrepreneurship via modules and initiatives like the Virtual Start-up Incubator. It maintains partnerships with around 30 universities worldwide for semester abroad options. The university actively participates in professional and research networks such as the Art Directors Club, CILECT, and the European Media Management Association, fostering valuable industry connections for students and staff.
