COURSE CURRICULUM

The Computer Science degree is a multi-year curriculum combining theoretical foundations with hands-on, practical experience. In the first year, students are introduced to key areas such as Software Development, Digital Systems, Fundamentals of Computer Science, and Professionalism in Practice. They also choose from business management and finance modules to broaden their skill set. Topics range from programming in languages like Python and JavaScript, to understanding computer architecture, logic systems, and ethical computing. As students progress, they explore advanced programming paradigms, algorithms, computer networks, software design, and artificial intelligence (AI). Core modules cover both foundational concepts and cutting-edge developments, such as data engineering, human-computer interaction, secure cyber systems, and machine learning. Modules like Artificial Intelligence Concepts, Computer Vision, and Deep Learning provide students with in-depth exposure to AI and its applications. Other advanced topics include distributed systems, secure cyber-physical systems, and languages and compilation, offering a robust grounding in both the theory and implementation of complex computing systems. A strong emphasis is placed on team collaboration and real-world problem-solving through the Computer Science Group Project. In their final year, students undertake a substantial individual project and submit a dissertation, applying the knowledge and skills acquired throughout the degree to a specialized area of their choice. With small-group labs, dedicated supervision, and a curriculum aligned with industry needs, graduates are well-prepared for careers in technology, research, or further academic study.
