ABOUT UNIVERSITY

Lancaster University Leipzig, established in 2020, is the German branch campus of Lancaster University UK and the first public UK university to open a campus in Germany. Located in Leipzig and approved by the Saxon State Ministry for Higher Education, Research, and the Arts, the campus offers undergraduate programs in management, finance, computing, and IT, as well as a postgraduate degree in logistics and supply chain management and pre-master’s courses in business and computer science. Its academic offerings are aligned with key regional industries like digital technology and logistics. Students studying in Leipzig earn the same Lancaster University degree awarded in the UK. Leipzig was chosen for the campus due to its strong economic growth, increasing student population, and international appeal. It is the fourth international campus for Lancaster University, joining those in China, Ghana, and Malaysia. The first cohort of students began in January 2020, just before the COVID-19 pandemic, which led to the rapid adoption of a hybrid teaching model. This approach continues, allowing flexibility for students facing visa delays. The university boasts a diverse student community representing over 90 nationalities, with 60% of students from non-EU countries, 30% from within the EU, and 10% from Germany.
