COURSE CURRICULUM

The Activism and Political Change specialization includes subjects that prepare students to understand, organize, and evaluate social movements and political action in diverse national and international contexts. Students study the history of social movements, examining how collective action has influenced political, social, economic, and cultural change throughout history. The curriculum also covers strategic practice and action planning, where students learn how to design campaigns, develop advocacy strategies, organize community initiatives, and manage social and political projects effectively. Another key subject is civic engagement and action research, enabling students to work with communities, conduct participatory research, and develop practical solutions to social challenges through evidence-based approaches. The program further explores digital media and activism, focusing on how social media, online platforms, and digital communication technologies are used to mobilize public participation, raise awareness, and support advocacy campaigns.
