COURSE CURRICULUM
The Human Rights and International Law specialization includes subjects that prepare students to understand international legal systems, global governance, and the protection of fundamental human rights. Students study International Law, where they gain knowledge of the legal principles, treaties, conventions, and institutions that regulate relations between countries and address issues such as human rights, international cooperation, humanitarian law, and global justice. The curriculum also includes Global Leadership, enabling students to develop leadership skills for managing international challenges, promoting ethical decision-making, and leading organizations in culturally diverse and politically complex environments. Another key area of study is Justice, where students explore legal and philosophical concepts of fairness, equality, accountability, and the rule of law while examining how justice systems operate at national and international levels. Students also study Human Rights and Constitutional Rights, gaining an understanding of the legal protections that safeguard individual freedoms, equality, dignity, and civil liberties under international agreements and constitutional frameworks. Throughout the specialization, students strengthen their analytical, research, communication, negotiation, critical thinking, and intercultural skills through case studies, policy analysis, simulations, and project-based learning. Graduates have a wide range of career opportunities in organizations involved in law, public policy, diplomacy, and human rights advocacy. They can work in international organizations that promote human rights, peace, development, and humanitarian cooperation. Career opportunities are also available in the diplomatic service, representing national interests while contributing to international negotiations and policy development. Graduates may pursue roles in ministries, government authorities, or municipalities that focus on human rights protection, social integration, equality, anti-discrimination policies, and public administration. Additional opportunities exist in political institutions, policy advisory organizations, non-governmental organizations, legal advocacy groups, humanitarian agencies, and international development programs. Those interested in academic careers may also pursue research positions in universities, research institutes, and think tanks specializing in international law, human rights, public policy, and global governance. The specialization equips graduates with the legal knowledge, ethical understanding, and professional skills required to address complex international legal and human rights issues while contributing to justice, equality, and international cooperation across government, nonprofit, and international sectors.
